TALENTED guitarist Progress Chipfumo is set to release his fifth album titled “Hold My Hand” tomorrow.
The “Tsiurika” singer is set to break his long silence on the music scene with a highly anticipated nine-track album.
Chipfumo, who was on a five-year “sabbatical” from music, said the album was a surprise package for his hardcore fans who waited for this long for another well-polished gem.
“Progie is back and believe me that the ‘real’ Sounds of the Motherland will set the music scene ablaze for good.
“This is a surprise package and a vote of thanks going out to all my fans countrywide for their unwavering support.
“I was in a delicate situation with my health over the past years that at one point forced me to shelve some of my projects,” said Chipfumo.
“Hold My Hand” was recorded and produced by renowned guitarist Clive “Mono” Mukundu at his Monolio Studios.
Chipfumo said it has been five years since he last recorded a new album.
“It has been a long time because I was focusing on family,” he said.
The official launch of the album will be held soon. Songs to look forward to on the album include “Kwandinobva”, “Mabvi Nemagokora” and “Hold My Hand”, the album title.
Chipfumo rose to fame with his several hits including “Nhaka”, “Vanochema”, “Garwe” and “Papi Zvapo” from his previous albums.
His last album “Tsiurika” features the hit “Anochema”.
“Progie”, as his fans call him, has risen to become a force to reckon with.
He has shared the stage with big names like Alick Macheso, Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah and Suluman Chimbetu among others.
