Contemporary musician Progress Chipfumo will make his debut performance at the first anniversary of Legends Bar in Marondera on Saturday. The venue organiser confirmed the development saying they were excited to host the “Garwe” singer who was likely to bring colour to the small town.

“We have worked with a number of artistes since we opened this joint and Chipfumo was not part of those musicians. We have decided to give him a chance to make him part of our festive celebrations,” he said.

While they were anticipating Chipfumo’s performance they took the time to encourage local artistes to display high levels of professionalism if they wanted to be engaged by the corporate world.

“We have seen a lot in the arts industry and I can safely say some artists show maturity while others are highly unprofessional. We always encourage them to interact and share some notes because engagements like these can be highly profitable to both parties,” he said. Masaiti said they have brought different artists to perform at their venue and the response from their patrons was overwhelming.

“We are not selective when it comes to hosting artistes but we give them equal chances to perform. This is Progress’s chance to shine and charm new fans and we hope that he rises to the occasion,” he said.

Legends Bar has brought life to the town of Marondera, giving the fun starved fans a chance to interact with Zimbabweans’ top musicians.

Chipfumo, who is one of the most celebrated musicians in the country, said he was looking forward to a great performance.“We are ready to roar in Marondera as the Sounds of the Motherland. There are a number of unreleased material that we will perform for our fans in Marondera. They will get a chance to sample my upcoming album that is also full of surprises,” he said.

Chipfumo has released a number of hits that include “Mangerengere” “Havarove” “Ku Raper Mwana”, and “Tokwe Mukosi”.
