A prominent farmer who impressed President Mnangagwa last year with his exceptional herd of cattle at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) made a surprise visit to the ongoing Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church camp meeting in Nyamandlovu.
During the event, Mr Jairos Mahlangu, founder of Hlangu, donated farming inputs to support upcoming farmers.
Mr Mahlangu is renowned for breeding high-quality Brahman cattle.
He took the opportunity at the seven-day spiritual retreat to gift church members with stock feed and chemicals for livestock disease and tick control.
Additionally, he presented one lucky female farmer with a heifer.
The fortunate recipient, Mrs Siphathisiwe Magama, expressed overwhelming gratitude, saying, “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to improve my life and take care of my family.”
Beyond his donations, Mr Mahlangu shared valuable knowledge on best practices in cattle rearing and demonstrated how farmers can produce their own feed, highlighting the advantages of reducing costs while increasing profits.
In his remarks, the renowned breeder emphasized that his contributions are a way of giving back to the communities that nurtured him and have supported his businesses.
“The government is parceling out land to its citizens, and we encourage everyone to use it productively,” Mahlangu said.
