YOUTH, Sport, Art and Recreation Minister, Kirsty Coventry, has gazetted regulations and prices of registration for all arts promoters and artists.
Under the category of arts association or institution, the initial registration is now US$250 while the renewal (annual) amount is US$150.
The amendment price for arts promoters in the initial registration category is US$$650 and US$550 for renewals.
For individual artists, the initial registration is US$20 and US$20 renewal.
Show Clearance Fees for local shows is US$100 per month and for importing foreign artists, five percent of gate takings or US$1 000.
“These regulations may be cited as the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (General) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023 (No. 3).
“The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (General) regulations, 2006, published in Statutory Instrument 87 of 2006, is amended by the repeal of the First Schedule,” read the statement.
The registration fees stipulated may be payable in local currency (ZWL) at the current interbank rate in terms of the exchange control regulations as published by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.
“The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (General) (Amendment) Regulations, 2023 (No. 2), published in Statutory Instrument 67 of 2020, are repealed,” reads the statement.
NACZ communication and marketing manager, Rodney Ruwende, said the new changes came into effect last week.
“So, the SI only came into effect on Friday when it was gazetted.
“We are only starting to use it today (yesterday). Most promoters and associations started renewing their registrations from November last year using the old figures, which were in RTGS, and were promoters $1860 and Associations $260.
“So, the SI will affect all new registrations and renewals starting today.”
