A DESPERATE married woman’s life turned upside down when she was drugged by a prophet who later had sex with her.
The woman had gone to consult Prophet Ntokozo Moyo (36) because she was having problems conceiving. Moyo is a well-known prophet in Lupane.
She reported the prophet for rape and he has since been arrested and arraigned before Lupane resident magistrate Ndumo Masuku.
Moyo claimed to be in love with his alleged victim and so pleaded not guilty to rape.
“I proposed love to her and I didn’t know that she was a married woman.
At the time she was complaining of an abnormal menstrual cycle and I had to give her a concoction to stop it. It stopped after three days. Since we were already lovers we engaged in sex,” he said.
But when the complainant took to the stand she told of how she approached the prophet for help and how he allegedly took advantage of her.
“He is lying Your Worship.
He gave me a concoction to drink saying it would make me fall pregnant. I had told him I was failing to fall pregnant.
He gave me a concoction which I drank, after that I felt dizzy. He touched my breasts and my privates then he had sex with me,” she said.
The magistrate remanded him in custody to next week on Tuesday and he was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
