A CHEGUTU-BASED prophet was on Saturday arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a female church member.
Prophet Timothy Michael of New Generation Church was arrested while conducting a church service.
Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Ian Kohwera said he was yet to receive the report.
However, one of the senior church members, Venjai Jowo, confirmed the arrest.
“Yes, he has been arrested,” said Vongai, refusing to answer more questions.
Sources told H-Metro that Prophet Michael allegedly demanded a kiss from the female congregant.
“This is the only female member who stood up to defend her rights.
“When he demanded a kiss, that is when she shouted at him.”
