FOUNDER of Daughters of Virtue International Ministries and Hebron Art of Prayer International Ministries president, , has been honoured at the 2024 Prestigious Annual Predecessors Awards (PAPA) recently held in Midrand, South Africa.
This year’s awards ceremony ran under the theme, “Succession-Securing Tomorrow Today”. The award recognised Prophetess Matimbire’s exceptional contributions to leadership, empowerment and prayer, impacting over 800 000 followers across 21 countries.
She is married to Pastor Fred Matimbire, and the couple is blessed with a daughter, Nyasha. Prophetess Matimbire’s passion for prayer and dedication to empowering others has made a significant impact in Africa and beyond.
The PAPA Awards, organised by the Rain Foundation, led by author Ralph Antwi, brought together esteemed spiritual leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers from across Africa, celebrating excellence and unity.
Prophetess Matimbire joined 18 other luminaries and organisations from across Africa recognised for their sterling contributions in the fields of governance, leadership, business, philanthropy, media and arts. These included Dr Rebecca Malope from South Africa, Ghana’s Kojo Oppong Adjei, Dr Absalom Themba Dlamini of Swaziland and South Sudan’s Awut Dang Acuil.
A holder of an accounting qualification, and a Diploma in Biblical Studies from Lead Bible School International Ministries, Prophetess Matimbire’s prayerful journey began over two decades ago.
An encounter with God changed the course of her life as it bore a passion for praying in the mountains, making her a pioneering revival vessel in Zimbabwe and yonder. Through her commitment to prayer and empowerment, a new generation of leaders has been inspired to strive for excellence.
Her ministries have spread across 21 nations, and her books and teachings have empowered women and individuals to excel across the whole gamut of human effort.

Together with her husband, Pastor Fred, a decade ago, she founded Hebron Art of Prayer Church, which has grown to 15 branches in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
In 2017, Hebron birthed Daughters of Virtue International Ministry (DOV), a non-denominational prayer group, which was initially for women.
Over time, the prayer movement embraced men through Sons of Valour (SOV). She has also been instrumental in leading national prayer events through Daughters of Virtue, thus transcending the corridors of administration.
This award, therefore, does not only add another plume to her cap, but also testifies to Prophetess Matimbire’s tireless efforts to raise an altar of prayer in every individual, regardless of race, colour, or creed.
Befittingly, the awards night, which she attended at the revered Courtyard Hotel in Midrand, South Africa, was filled with inspiration, motivation, and celebration, featuring powerful testimonials, thought-provoking speeches, and meaningful networking opportunities.

Indeed, the 2024 African Edition of the PAPA Awards will be remembered as a milestone event that fostered unity, innovation, and growth, inspiring a new generation of leaders to endeavour for fineness in their specialties.
