United Kingdom-based praise and worship singer Phamiah Macheka firmly believes she has nailed it with her fifth album titled “Mhinduro Yashe”, which urges both Christians and non-believers to have faith in God.
Better known as Prophetess Phammy, the Masvingo-born academic, nurse and preacher believes in music that can change lives.
Her album, which gives hope to those in despair and restores the relationship between Christians and God, features five spiritually uplifting tracks.
These include “Gore Rangu”, a prayer that encourages people to worship God in both trying and good times.
She appeals to God for protection and guidance in the track “Ndochemera Mweya”.
Prophetess Phammy, who firmly believes in God, cannot thank the Lord enough for His favour in the track “Hupenyu Inyasha”.
She has collaborated with Rumbidzai Zvirikuzhe on the track “Hamukundikani”, honouring the Lord for His favour.
The praise and worship exponent also prays for God’s protection to safeguard her children in the track “Berekai Vana Vangu,” featuring Trymore Bande.
The album was recently launched in the United Kingdom, where she shared the stage with Mai Banda from the US, Pastor Olinda Marowa, Yeukai Washe, Minister Heavenly Zulu, Minister Rumbie, and Minister Acqueline.
In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Prophetess Phammy expressed her eagerness to launch it back home.
“The launch was very successful, and we are looking forward to launching it in Zimbabwe.
“I will always honour my fans back home because they have made us who we are.
“I am grateful to all those who have supported us over the years, and we will continue churning out good music that benefits people and transforms lives,” she stressed.
“With this album, we are looking forward to giving our fans music that heals them and we hope that our mission will be accomplished.
“We also urge our fans to have faith in us.”
She added:
“The album is set to launch on 263 Classic Radio on the 5th of September.
We will also launch on Star FM, Radio Zimbabwe and National FM Radio.
We had a very successful launch here in the UK, where people turned up in large numbers and filled the venue.”
For the benefit of gospel lovers, Prophetess Phammy was born and raised in Masvingo, Zimbabwe.
She is a devoted Christian, gospel musician, nurse and minister residing in the United Kingdom.
With a Diploma in Theology (Priesthood) and a BA in Early Years and Childcare, she connects with people from diverse backgrounds. Prophetess Phammy’s music career is driven by her passion to spread God’s message through uplifting songs, inspiring and connecting with people globally. Gospel music chose her, and sharing her faith through song feels natural.
Despite being a multi-tasking woman, she has devised ways to balance her busy schedule.
She prioritises time, sets boundaries, and seeks guidance from God and loved ones to balance ministry, music, family and work.
Musically, she now has her fifth album “Mhinduro Yashe”, launched in the United Kingdom.
While overseas, she has collaborated with UK-based artistes Pastor Olinda Marowa, Mai Banda, and Yeukai Washe.
When it comes to awards, her song “Handaibvuma” was voted Song of the Year in Brazil last year.
As a focused and hard-working woman, she has also set herself realistic ambitions.
“My short-term plan is to release new music and collaborate with local artistes, while my long-term plan to establish a music academy to empower upcoming gospel artistes,” she stated.
Her biggest achievement as an artiste was winning Best Song of the Year in Brazil in 2024 for “Handaibvuma”.
Blessed with powerful song-writing techniques and strong networking skills, Prophetess Phammy is destined for the stars.
