A Guruve Magistrate Court prosecutor has appeared in court facing extortion charges involving US$200 which she allegedly demanded from relatives of an accused person.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed in a statement.
“Between January 19 and 27, 2025, Yolanda Alufusi allegedly demanded USD$200 from Chiedza Mutunami, sister to Innocent Mutunami who was in remand prison on charges of motor vehicle theft.
“Alufasi reportedly promised to fast track the release of Innocent Mutunami’s criminal docket from the police and facilitate his bail application.”
