A LANDLORD in Bulawayo’s Gwabalanda suburb cheated death when a man who had hired his hooker tenant stabbed him, a court has heard.

Edmore Moyo allegedly hired Thenjiwe Sibanda for a night of sex at her lodgings on October 10.

Moyo allegedly failed to pay what Sibanda was asking to entertain him and she chucked him out of the house.

An enraged Moyo allegedly started banging on the windows and made noise that woke Marvelous Dlamini, the landlord.

Moyo allegedly drew a knife and stabbed Dlamini on the arm, leaving a deep gash.

Dlamini bled profusely and was rushed to hospital, the court heard.

Moyo pleaded guilty to assault when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.

Tashaya remanded him out of custody to October 23.

Prosecuting, Nathaniel Mutsikwa said on October 10 at night, Moyo had a misunderstanding with Thenjiwe Sibanda who is Dlamini’s tenant.

“Upon hearing the noise emanating from the next room, Dlamini woke up and inquired what was happening.

“This angered Moyo who took out a knife and stabbed Dlamini once on the arm and fled from the scene,” said Mutsikwa.

Dlamini sustained a deep cut.

“He was rushed to hospital and a medical report was compiled which will be tendered in court.

“Police tracked down Moyo and arrested him,” said Mutsikwa.
