A Harare woman was granted a protection order against her friend’s ex-boyfriend after proving that he constantly insults her.
Plaxedes Tapera told the court that her friend’s ex-boyfriend, Steven Mhengo, was in a habit of insulting her using vulgar language and disturbing her business.
“He insults me using vulgar language and he also calls me a prostitute in front of my child. I am now losing my dignity.
“He also comes to my workplace disturbing and insulting my customers. I want him to stop insulting me and coming to my workplace. He should deal with the person he dated and leave me alone,” said Plaxedes.
In response, Steven opposed the application.
“I oppose the application as it is based on lies. I did not insult her, but I insulted her friend,” he said.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the application.
