A WOMAN was yesterday granted a protection order against her abusive step-daughter.
Lizzy Mukweva convinced magistrate Tamara Chibindi that her step-daughter, Linety Mukweva, had been subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse.
She also told the court that Linety has been threatening to evict her from the house, claiming it belongs to her late father.
“She insults and assaults me. Ever since my husband died, I have not known peace. “The court must help me ask what I wronged her because I was married to her father.
“We stay in the same yard but in different houses.
“She has a tendency of bursting into my house without knocking,” Lizzy said.
Linety argued that whenever she goes to Lizzy’s house, she would be checking on her siblings.
“The day she is claiming that I assaulted her is not the truth because, as far as I remember, we both fought.
“I only visit her side of the house to see my siblings and her sisters,” she claimed.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi ordered Linety not to physically, and verbally, abuse her step-mother.
