The self-titled album by the jazz diva was released on Monday night at a glitzy function held at the Alliance Française, where she performed a couple of tunes from the album together with her hits from the past.
The eight-track album is a masterpiece.
Prudence worked with the likes of renowned percussionist Stroovas Shadaya and drummer Simba Dembeza among others.
The former Jazz Invitation vocalist co-produced the project with the award-winning producer Clive Mono Mkundu under the much-acclaimed Monolio record label.
In a statement by her publicist Kudzi Gonese, Prudence made it known that the album will be accessible to all music loving persons around the world.
“Prudence has much of an international appeal and as such we will be employing strategies to market the album online such that it is available to all.
“She will be performing more shows and touring much more often” she said.
Prudence is no stranger to the arts industry. She boasts of a carrier that spans over a decade where she has featured some of the big names in the arts sector that include Tanga Wekwasando and the Cool Crooners.
Despite being rated the top female jazz artiste in the country Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana did not have a single album to her name.
She made a mark on the scene when she was with the group Jazz Invitation.
Over the years the sassy diva has belted out several hit singles such as “BP” and “Nafuna Nafuna”.
Prudence is a well-respected performer who brings a funky vibe to the stage and the energy she possesses makes it a delight to watch her on stage.
