PSL CLEAR THE AIR OVER REPLAY?

THE PSL have cleared the air over how Dynamos and Hardrock can replace players who have moved, during the transfer widow, when they complete their abandoned game?

The PSL DC ruled that the match should be completed at a neutral venue and behind closed doors.

Rodwell Thabe, the PSL CEO, said the clubs will have to field the same teams from the abandoned fixture.

He said the players, who are no longer part of either club, will be replaced by the substitutes who were on the cards for that Match Day.

This will also apply to the injured players.

“Yes, we fully understand the unique circumstances involved here,” said Thabe.

“We understand that some players have moved since it’s already the mid-season window.

“But we are saying there are no new players allowed to take part in the game.

“Only the players who were there and have moved or cannot play due to injuries or something else, can be replaced by way of official substitutions.”

However, there is one BIG QUESTION.

Will Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe come back to Dynamos and take charge of the Glamour Boys for that match?

Mangombe was suspended by the DeMbare leadership and there were reports that he is set to seal his reunion with Triangle.

In the event that he has joined Triangle, can DeMbare then argue that they can’t fulfil that match without the coach who was in charge for that game?

Hardrock, for their failure to provide sufficient security at the match venue, will play their home game against Triangle behind closed doors.

Ordinarily, they should have played their next home fixture against CAPS United on Sunday without supporters in attendance.

But, the fact that the tickets for the match were already on sale has prompted the PSL to carry the punishment over to the Triangle match.

The Kwekwe club were fined US$10,000, of which US$2,000 was suspended for the remainder of the season, after their security arrangements were found to be at fault.

Club CEO Kudzanai Hove was banned until the end of the season and was fined US$5,000.

Dynamos will also pay a fine of US$10,000.
