The next 48 hours will be crucial for the Castle Lager Premiership as they keep their fingers crossed that the top-flight clubs test Covid-19 negative.
The league has re-fixture matchday three games in anticipation that a surge in cases that led to massive cancellation of games will not repeat again.
The clubs passed their first round of testing early this week but are expected to test again 48 hours prior to the matches.
Only Ngezi Platinum and Herentals that played their league match last weekend will be inactive.
The league marathon is still in its infancy, with only two rounds of play having been completed so far.
The latest Covid-19 nationwide statistics raise fears that the game could be affected again this season.
The domestic league failed to kick off in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and clubs complained of huge financial losses.
However, the league fathers will have some breathing space when the league takes a festive and Africa Cup of Nations break in the coming weeks.
They will be hoping that the Covid cases might have decreased by the time Nations Cup ends in Cameroon.
The competition has suffered disruptions.
But with rigorous health checks and strict adherence to the health protocols recommended by the PSL Sports Medicine Committee, the SRC, Government, and World Health Organisation, the PSL has tried to manage the situation.

Sunday: Manica Diamonds v Highfield (Sakubva), Dynamos v Cranborne Bullets (National Sports Stadium), Bulawayo Chiefs v FC Platinum (Luveve).
