AFTER a week in which their plane flew into severe turbulence, the Premiership programme swings back into action tomorrow, with the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals.
The entire midweek league matches were scrapped after referees boycotted the matches amid the stand-off between the suspended ZIFA board and the Sports Commission.
“Referees have been secured, Xolisani Gwesela (acting ZIFA chief executive) and Brighton Mudzamiri (ZIFA Referes Committee member) were working on that,’’ said a PSL official.
“We are back to normal, in as far as the league is concerned, and that means the fans can have something to talk about, the real stuff that comes from the pitch, instead of what only comes from the boardroom.
“We are happy that our sponsors will not be affected this weekend as was the case during midweek.’’
PSL chairman, Farai Jere, is believed to have been working overtime in the past two days to ensure the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals go ahead as scheduled.
Ngezi Platinum went to Bulawayo for a match against Highlanders which was never played.
Tomorrow, the Mhondoro side have a Chibuku Super Cup semi-final showdown against Cranborne Bullets at the National Sports Stadium.
Having eliminated two-time champions Harare City three weeks ago, the army side should be fancying their chances against Rodwell Dhlakama’s men.
“We have been working on our recovery given that we were on the bus to and from Bulawayo where we had a scheduled fixture against Highlanders,’’ said Dhlakama.
“Everything is moving on smoothly, as we prepare for the Chibuku Super Cup semi-final showdown against Cranborne Bullets, on Saturday.
Highlanders have since been eliminated by FC Platinum, who play Dynamos in the other semi-final on Sunday at the same venue.
