LEGENDARY former Zimbabwe goalkeeper Brenna Msiska made hundreds of key saves during an illustrious career that saw him star for both CAPS United and the national team in the early 1990s.

An eccentric character, Msiska, might, however, fail to save Yadah Stars from dropping out of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Msiska, who was an assistant, was elevated to head coach following the sacking of Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe earlier this month.

Yadah’s predicament has, however, not changed with results still not coming their way.

And now Msiska, an experienced coach now needs a miracle to save Yadah from sinking.

The Miracle Boys sit second from bottom, with 31 points, going into the last three rounds of the 2025 campaign.

Given that an average of 38 points have been enough for a team to survive relegation in the last five seasons, Yadah might have to win all their remaining games for them to survive.

They play Herentals College at Rufaro on Saturday before facing Dynamos at the same venue and Simba Bhora away at Wadzanai, in their last two matches of the season.

Msiska insists Yadah, who have enjoyed Premiership status since 2018, “will not go anywhere’’.

“Anything can happen in football, and we are not throwing in the towel as yet,” he told Zimpapers Sports Hub.

“Yes, we know we have very difficult games coming up but the boys are confident they will win.

“We are conditioning the boys so that they are up to the task.”

With Kwekwe United already relegated, three more teams will be confirmed in the next few weeks.

So unpredictable is the relegation matrix that it also includes traditional giants Highlanders, who occupy 10th position with 36 points.

Chicken Inn, winners in 2015, Bikita Minerals, Triangle United, Manica Diamonds and Dynamos are also in the mix.

DeMbare are third from bottom with 34 points and need at least four points from their remaining three matches for them to seal survival.

They host Bikita Minerals at Rufaro on Sunday, in an intriguing relegation battle, which the hosts cannot to lose given their precarious position.

Bikita Minerals have 36 points and need one win from their remaining matches to survive the chop.

Their coach Wilson Mutekede says his charges are ready to “engage” Dynamos.

“Yes, we are indeed in the relegation matrix where we are fighting to try and make sure we avoid the chop.

“It is indeed a very, very tight race, a very, tight fight if you look at the number of teams involved.

“But look, we are trying to really do our best to get out of it,” said the former ZIFA technical director.

Bikita Minerals have registered two wins and a draw in their last four games and are enjoying a good patch.

“We are hoping to play well against Dynamos.

“We know Dynamos are on a roll at the moment.

“They are doing well, they are posting results but we are determined to try and fight to make sure we get something out of this match.

“So, yes, the battle is on and we are geared and excited to really engage Dynamos at this juncture of the competition.

“It is life and death. But that’s football. That’s the game we have to play.

“And I think we are ready for that,” declared Mutekede.
