WITH Matchday 22 now largely complete, Scottland FC has taken a commanding position at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table. Their impressive tally of 49 points from 22 matches leaves them 10 points clear of second-placed Hardrock FC, who still have a game in hand.

Scottland’s dominance has been built on consistency. They boast the league’s best attack with 37 goals scored and the best defence, having conceded just six goals all season. Their recent run of victories underlines why they are now firm favourites for the championship.

The battle for the remaining top four places remains fiercely contested. Hardrock (39 points), Dynamos (37 points), Ngezi Platinum Stars (37 points), CAPS United (36 points) and Herentals (36 points) are separated by just three points, setting up an exciting race for honours and continental qualification.

Highlanders continue to keep themselves within touching distance on 34 points, although too many draws have slowed their title ambitions.

At the other end of the table, the relegation fight is becoming increasingly intense. Triangle United remain rooted to the bottom with 11 points, while AGAMA FC and Manica Diamonds are both on 16 points, and TelOne sit just above them on 17. With plenty of football still to be played, the survival battle promises to be just as gripping as the race for the title.
