THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) will soon advertise for bids for the production of a documentary that celebrates the organisation’s 30 years.
Former Super League clubs broke away from Zifa to run their affairs independently after complaining of a raw deal by the mother body.
The first Premier Soccer League season was in 1993 and Highlanders won the title then sponsored by new entrants Blue Ribbons Foods.
Kennedy Ndebele, the PSL chief executive officer confirmed the development yesterday.
“We will be working on a documentary. We will be flighting advertisements for informal tenders,” said Ndebele.

He said the bids would be for the script writing and production.
“We will be inviting individuals and companies to do script writing and production of the documentary,” said Ndebele.
The PSL clubs wanted to be in full control of their affairs as they felt the national association, Zifa was fleecing them with owners of stadia as almost 40 percent of gross revenue was split between the two bodies.
Morrison Sifelani was the founding chairman of the PSL with vibrant Chris Mhlanga the secretary-general in the founding years of the league. Caps United, Dynamos and Highlanders are the only clubs that have never been relegated.
Black Rhinos and Hwange were among the founding clubs. But the two have turned out to be yoyo teams taking turns to play in Division One.
While the league came into existence at a time a crop deemed to having been the best after Independence was retiring, there have been positives in the PSL era with its players breaking into foreign leagues.
