MOST people always have fun when they spot someone busy scratching his or her private parts and usually end up concluding that so and so is in the habit of scratching his private area even in public without shame.

Pubic lice, as the name suggests are tiny parasitic blood-sucking wingless insects that infest the human genitals causing itching and red spots. Crabs affect sexually active adolescents and adults much more commonly than children. Pubic lice cannot survive for very long away from the warmth and humidity of a human body.
Pubic lice are real and there are people who take the itching of their privates area lightly. If you have such a problem or know one person always scratching down there, better advise him or her to get help as it is not normal.
Itching in the pubic area is not caused by biting from the insect, but from an allergic reaction to the louse saliva and faeces of the pubic lice, thus you find victims constantly scratching. Pubic lice are passed on during physical contact with a person who has them, where pubic hair or other hair touches.
It is therefore advisable, if you suspect your partner has got such a problem help him and avoid being a victim as well. Although rare, pubic lice may also spread by sharing bed linen, clothing and towels with an infected person.

A shaved pubic region is less prone to cuts during sex. Sometimes, when sex involves hairy joystick or vagina, the hair gets in the way and causes cuts in the genitals or condoms.
