THE Public Service Commission (PSC) says it strives to create a public service that is responsive, accountable, and diligent in delivering service to meet the needs of all Zimbabweans as it joins the country in commemorating Workers Day.

In a statement, the PSC chairman, Dr Vincent Hungwe, the Deputy Chairperson, Commissioners, the Secretary to the Service Commission, Dr. Tsisti Rosemary Choruma-Dozwa, the Defence Forces Service Commission, the Police Service Commission, the Prisons and Correctional Service Commission, the Health Service Commission and the Secretariat to Commissions, join the members of the Public Service in celebrating International Workers Day.

“As we commemorate Worker’s Day. I wish to acknowledge the stellar contributions made by civil servants across Zimbabwe as they deliver services to all sectors of society within the Republic and as they execute the mandate to re-engage and raise the Zimbabwean flag and image internationally. Our patriotic fervour as well as the indomitable conviction to surmount impediments, buoyed by His Excellency President Cde. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s emphatic mantra urging us to take ownership of the development of the Motherland, as sting values to spur us on towards the accelerated attainment of Vision 2030.”

“On this May Day, let us also reaffirm our collective responsibility to uphold the values of solidarity, inclusivity, and social justice. Together, let us strive to create a public service that is responsive, accountable, and diligent in delivering service to meet the needs of all Zimbabweans,” reads the statement.
