THE 9th Annual General Symposium for National Employment Councils (NECs) and the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare has started in Victoria Falls with delegates from a cross-section of sectors attending.
The symposium, to be officiated by Public Service Minister July Moyo is being held under the theme: “Capacitating the National Employment Council for compliance with regulations in meeting the current and future challenges.”
Some of the issues to be discussed the impact of monetary policy on the economy in general and NECs, with the recently introduced ZiG likely to dominate discussions.
Participants will also talk about compliance issues, impact of drugs and substance abuse at the workplace, mental health and wellness, Governance frameworks and repositioning NECs for financial independence, self sustenance and social safety nets.
