PUMULA South High School chess sensation Nathan Bukhosi Moyo is seeking donations to attend an upcoming international tournament in Gaborone, Botswana scheduled for next month.
He needs US$400 (including passport fees) to be able to participate in the tournament which will run from 17-20 November. Moyo, a Form 2 pupil at Pumula South High School in Bulawayo made it into the Zimbabwe Chess Federation team that will represent the country in Botswana. He has won several junior tournaments including the recently held Nust Junior Chess Championships in which he topped the group and received a gold medal, certificate of excellence, and trophy.
Nathan’s father Norman Moyo said his son has immense talent and taking part in the Botswana tournament will put another feather to his cap.

“My son has immense potential to play the sport at an even higher level. We, therefore, appeal to any well-wishers out there to help us help him fulfil his long-term dream to excel in the sport. He recently acquired a Fide Identification which is an international rating ID that allows him to participate at that level.
“We are required to raise US$400 to be able to process his travelling documents as well as other costs associated with his participation at the Botswana tournament. I am not employed at the moment and therefore have no dependable source of income to fund this initiative as a father ought to,” he added.
Well-wishers can contact this publication or Moyo on the following numbers 0716 537 123 and 0773 477 031.
