Pumula youths organise 10km anti-crime fun run

YOUTHS from Pumula and Hyde Park under the Safe, Inclusive Cities Project are set to host a 10km fun run in Pumula on November 27.

The event is aimed at spreading crime awareness and event organiser Admire Banda said they had been cleared by the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) to hold the event.

“We are good to go. We have engaged all necessary stakeholders to ensure that the event is a success. We had intended to hold the event in June, but that was not possible because of lockdown restrictions in place at that time.

“We normally raise awareness through roadshows and talk shows, but we want to do things differently this time. Crime and violence in the suburb pushed us to start this initiative in the hope it will make a difference in our community. Registration for the event is free,” said Banda. – @innocentskizoe
