A 17-YEAR-OLD Form Four pupil and two other suspects have been arrested in Norton after he was found in possession of mbanje as the ongoing crackdown against drug dealers continues countrywide.
Following their arrest, police were led to the arrest of one Eneress Taulo (27) from whose residence they recovered 64 sachets of mbanje.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest.
“On September 13, 2025, ZRP Norton arrested Eneress Taulo aged 27 for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs. The arrest follows the arrest of three suspects, including a 17-year-old Form Four student, who were apprehended for unlawful possession of dagga at Ngoni Stadium on September 12, 2025.
“The police recovered 64 sachets of dagga, which were hidden in a claypot at Eneress Taulo’s residence in Katanga,” he said.
Meanwhile, on September 12, 2025, police in Makosa, Mashonaland East acted on received information and arrested Kudzanai Kufakwemba (18), Synodi Chiuta (38) and Sarah Nyakatangure (23) for unlawful possession of mbanje and unregistered medicines.
The police recovered 12 boxes of 30 x 100ml Astra pain cough syrup, loose dagga and 45 sachets of dagga from Kudzanai Kufakwemba’s residence in Jinga Village, Mudzi.
Additionally, 36x100ml bottles of Benlyn cough syrup and loose dagga were recovered from Synodi Chiuta’s house in Nyakudika Village and 29x100ml bottles of Benlyn cough syrup were recovered from Sarah Nyakatangure at Mutondo Business Centre.
