A 17-year-old boy from Famona in Bulawayo has been arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old girl. The boy is a Form Three pupil at Milton High School and it is alleged that he met the girl in Cowdray Park Suburb in March last year and proposed love to her.
The teens, who cannot be named for ethical reasons, started having sex until the girl, who is a Form Three student at St Columbus High School, told her friend who later told her mother.
The boy appeared before magistrateTinashe Tashaya facing a charge of having sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16. The boy admitted that he had sex with the girl but argued that she was his girlfriend and he was not aware of her age. The complainant was referred to a hospital for the medical report to be produced in court as an exhibit. – Metro
