A GRADE 5 pupil, who was on Monday dragged and forced into a vehicle while she was on her way to school in Kuwadzana, escaped her kidnapper.

She escaped when the female driver of the vehicle stopped, and left her unattended, as she made a series of calls.

The pupil managed to capture the vehicle registration number (AFG 1513).

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.

“Police are investigating a kidnapping case involving a minor child in Kuwadzana,” said Insp Chakanza.

“Circumstances are that on June 17, 2023, at around 1100 hours, the minor was on her way going to school.

“While on her way, she saw a blue motor vehicle, make and type unknown and it stopped in front of her.

“A female, who was driving the vehicle, got out of the vehicle and pulled her inside the motor vehicle.

“The minor tried to call for help but to no avail as the accused quickly sealed her mouth. She drove off getting into Bulawayo Road and turned into a dust road where she parked and went out of the vehicle leaving the minor alone making some calls.

“The minor managed to escape and got the accused’s motor vehicle registration number plates.

“She returned home and narrated the incident to her mother,” said Insp Chakanza.
