Qualities of model women, men Zim needs

The following are the qualities for a model man and woman the country needs, which came out of First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s countrywide tours under the Nharirire YeMusha Programme.

Qualities expected from a Mother

◆ A helper to her husband

◆ Submits to her husband

◆ Hard working

◆ Humble and has good behaviour, embodies the ethos of Unhu/Hunhu/Ubuntu

◆ Ensures cleanliness, both in the home and her environment

◆ Dignified dressing and modest manners

◆ Unifies the clan to which she married

◆ Respects her husband and spends time with her family

◆ Financially empowers herself through projects and helps in bringing multiple streams of income

◆ Is wise in expenditure around the house. Assists the husband in preserving current and long-term assets, which define wealth at the home

◆ Has effective communication skills, knows what to say and the appropriate time and place for utterances

◆ Is faithful to the husband

◆ Does not withhold love and affection from her spouse

Qualities expected from a Father

◆ A responsible head of the family

◆ Is dignified in his position as a leader of the family

◆ Does not withhold love and affection to his wife

◆ Pays roora/lobola for his wife, doesn’t just take a woman uncustomarily

◆ Spends time with his family. Is hardworking and gathers wealth for his family

◆ Is faithful to his wife and does not sleep around

◆ Allows his wife to undertake projects and empowerment ventures

◆ Respects his wife and is not abusive

◆ A unifier in the home

◆ Loves his children equally

◆ Communicates with his wife

◆ Includes his wife in planning for the future and new business endeavours.
