QUEEN Elizabeth School has once again delivered on its reputation for academic excellence after producing impressive Advanced Level results.
Thirteen students attained the maximum 15 points across Sciences, Commercials and Arts streams.
The school head, Tsungai Makura, said the outstanding performance reflects the school’s commitment to academic discipline and quality teaching, even in the face of challenges.
“We are proud of our Queens, they have demonstrated a great achievement.
“A number of our students from both A-Level and O-Level got As and we give thanks to parents and guardians as they complement efforts given by our teachers,” she said.
Despite some setbacks during the academic year, learners demonstrated determination and focus, culminating in exceptional results.
Former Queen Elizabeth School headgirl, Vanessa Samuriwo, who led the students in 2025, is among those who achieved 15 points after studying Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
“It was my pleasure to serve as head girl at Queen Elizabeth School. The journey was not easy, especially in Form Five when we did not have a physics teacher.
“However, in Form Six we were given one who pushed us and I am proud that we excelled.”

She attributed the success to patience and perseverance, particularly in demanding science subjects.
“Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success. Even if you get low marks at some point, it does not mean you are not capable.
“It is part of the learning process.”
Samuriwo also praised the school’s teaching staff for their dedication and mentorship, highlighting how learners, especially young women, are empowered and guided to aim high.
“The teachers at Queen Elizabeth School groom us so well. They are kind, supportive and always pushing us to be better,” she said.
Inspired by her academic journey, Samuriwo is now aspiring to pursue mechanical engineering, with interests in mechatronics and robotics engineering.
She plans to apply for a scholarship to Constructors University in Germany, while also considering the Presidential Scholarship.
Among the top achievers is Maria Yona, who studied Commercials, Pure Mathematics, Computer Science and Business Studies, and emerged with 15 points.
“Success is the sum of small efforts, so you better invest,” said Yona, encouraging fellow Upper Six students to remain committed to their studies.
She described her Advanced Level experience as rewarding, pointing out that she successfully balanced academics with sport.
“My experience was really good, being able to manage academic and sporting activities. I would also like to encourage students to participate in sports because sports do not lead to failure.”
Yona, who served as the Games Captain, actively participated in netball and golf, demonstrating the school’s emphasis on producing well-rounded learners who excel both in and outside the classroom.
She has ambitions to pursue Software Engineering at university.
