QUEENS Pool Club beat Entumbane in the final of the Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) Cup in the city on Saturday. Queens 8-6 victors won US$500.
For their efforts, Entumbane received US$350.”It was a great way to conclude the season for Queens Pool Club. We say congratulations to them. We are looking forward to another exciting season. Many thanks go to our sponsors and partners,” said BPA publicity and marketing officer Osborne Dziko.
It was a tournament that saw Maghageni Pool Club finish in position three while Raylton Pool Club were fourth.
It was a contest that featured a total of 65 teams that make up the BPA Premier, Central Business District (CBD) and Mzilikazi Division One Leagues.
Clubs that finished the tournament in positions five to eight include Chillers, Palace, Caravan and Mash Restoration.
“These are some of the clubs that we look forward to seeing give big clubs good competition in the next seasons. Good competition is always healthy and their sponsors, supporters and partners should not tire in giving them all the necessary support,” said Dziko.
Meanwhile, Palace Pool Club were crowned champions of the BPA Premier League champions.
This was after they finished the season on a massive 80 points, seven ahead of first runners-up Entumbane Pool Club.
Palace Pool Club went home with prizemoney of US$1200 while Entumbane Pool Club got US$700.Queens Pool Club were the second runners-up while Nkulumane Police Camp came out in position four. Kings Pool Club were named the Most Consistent Club.
“Since their establishment, Kings Pool Club have been very consistent and they have proved to be professional. That’s what we encourage as we seek to establish a more professional and competitive pool family in Bulawayo,” said Dziko.
