She might only be 10 years old, but Quvenzhane Wallis sure knows how to steal a show. The adorable little girl hit a high note just with her fuchsia jacket alone as she spent Tuesday on the set of Jay Z and Will Smith’s film version of “Annie”.
Along with her favourite jacket, Quvenzhane was comfortable looking in grey leggings, ruffled denim skirt and pink high-top trainers. In last year’s independent hit, “Beasts of the Southern Wild”, Quvenzhane was surrounded by adult actors.
This time she gets to work with other children and shout out lines such as “Leaping lizards!” and “Get lost!” Quvenzhane was seen palling around with a red-haired little girl about her own age, which made work seem more like playtime to her.
The other actress was seen rehearsing one of the dance numbers in a yellow-print frock, red cardigan and Mary Jane shoes. Towards the end of the day, Quvenzhane was seen walking hand-in-hand with a production assistant who most likely doubled as her minder.
Quvenzhane made a lasting impression in last year’s “Beasts of the Southern Wild” as Hushpuppy, the child prodigy of a dying man who lives in squalor in the backwoods bayou of Louisiana.
She then made another splash when she became the youngest nominee for a Best Actress Academy Award. No one can forget Quvenzhane as she charmed everyone on the red carpet at the Oscars in February, showing off her puppy handbags. Not long afterwards it was announced that Quvenzhane had replaced Willow Smith in the title role.
The movie remake also stars Rose Byrne, Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. — dailymail.
