The Zanu PF Youth League has rallied Zimbabweans to support the visionary progressive work being spearheaded by President Mnangagwa towards the attainment of Vision 2030.
Speaking during the organ’s National Executive Council meeting at the ruling party’s headquarters in Harare yesterday, Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs Cde Tino Machakaire said it was important that the President’s vision for the country is supported.
“We have all seen the visionary progressive work that is being carried out under the astute leadership of our President and First Secretary, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa,” he said.
“It is only fitting that we all rally behind him and exert all our energies into ensuring that his vision, Vision 2030 that of achieving an upper-middle-income economy for all is achieved.
“Let us desist from any activities that jeopardise the success of our President’s work.”
Cde Machakaire then charged his forces in the Youth League to actively look for ways to advance the Second Republic’s work.
Despondency and divisive tendencies, he said, have no place in the organ and party at large.
The Youth League boss then read the riot act saying “chicanery, manipulation of processes and corruption will not be tolerated”.
“As a party, we stand guided by the wisdom and vision of our President and First Secretary Cde Dr E.D Mnangagwa.
“Chicanery, manipulation of processes and outright corruption of any kind will not be tolerated especially those who seek to conduct such behaviour hiding behind the name of the party and our President.
“As the Youth League, we will not remain silent and watch the good name of our President and party being dragged through the mud.
“Let me take this opportunity to rally all members of the Youth League rank and file to be vigilant and be careful lest you be hoodwinked into mischief by excitable and wayward elements in our party,” he said.
Cde Machakaire challenged all Youth League members to comprehensively explore ways on how to empower youths for national development.
“Our colossal party, ZANU PF is under siege by those bent on sowing discord and confusion within the party.
“It is, therefore, incumbent upon us as the vanguard of the party to ensure we staunchly defend the revolution,” he said.
Cde Machakaire then touched on the National Youth Day celebrations scheduled for next week in Bulawayo, where President Mnangagwa will be the guest of honour.
He encouraged youths to attend the event in their numbers.
