Gordon Ramsay’s latest look has sparked fresh rumours that the no-nonsense celebrity chef has undergone follicular surgery.
The 47-year-old attended Victoria Beckham’s 40th birthday meal at The Arts Club in London’s Dover Street on Sunday sporting a brushed-forward fringe and seemingly shaved back and sides.
The back of Ramsay’s head also looked to have been covered in some sort of camouflage substance, perhaps a fibrous spray to give the illusion of hair density.
Normally, Gordon’s blonde hair is worn with a spikey fringe, so the look is certainly a diversion from his standard style.
Suspiciously, the line between his shaved hair and his longer growth isn’t blended, which will further raise suspicions.
Normally, if men undergo follicular unit extraction – or FUE – surgery, they are forced to shave part of their head in order for doctors to successfully access the roots. However, surgeons such as Dr Reddy in London’s Harley Street offer the procedure without this drawback.
Previous men who have had such procedures include James Nesbitt, who was treated in Ireland, and Wayne Rooney.
There are also rumours that Bradley Cooper is taking anti-baldness medicine Propecia, which reverses male pattern baldness by blocking testosterone from damaging hair follicles.
Hair loss expert Spencer Stevenson, who spent £30 000 on five transplants before finding success with a surgeon in New York, offered MailOnline his opinion on Gordon’s appearance.
“He looks like he is attempting to mask the back of his head — the donor region — with a hair concealer in order to cover the extraction site of a very recent FUE procedure, which leave numerous tell-tale red dots.
“I can’t be certain, but I would also assume that Ramsey’s long fringe is combed forward to cover the recipient area where he has had work performed. Thankfully, hair transplants have become much more mainstream with celebrities such as Robbie Williams speaking publicly about their own procedures, but research into ethical clinics is vital.”
Wearing a blue shirt with black trousers, Gordon looked smart-yet-casual as he left the exclusive venue with wife Tana.
Clearly keen to be discreet, he let her lead the way into a waiting vehicle. Tana, a successful cookery author, looked svelte and stylish in a pair of leather-effect trousers and black vest top with bright yellow shoes.
Proving that she has her own impressive mane, she wore her brown hair down in a loose, free-fall style.
This isn’t the only time the couple have celebrated Victoria’s big birthday.
They dined with the Beckhams in Los Angles restuarant Nobu, last Thursday, then went hiking with them in the Grand Canyon.
The restaurant is situated on the edge of town, right next to the ocean, and the superstar friends were said to have arrived at 7.30pm and stayed until around midnight. — MailOnline.
