GRUESOME details of how a suspected rapist allegedly inserted a knife into his victim’s private parts before raping her emerged in court yesterday.
Kelvin Munashe Manyika allegedly broke into the complainant’s home at Rainham Farm while she was asleep with her sister.
Manyika, who was armed with a pair of scissors, catapult and four knives, ordered the sisters to surrender their cellphones
He allegedly tied the hands of the woman and her younger sister with a rope.
He then dragged the sister out of the house and left her there.
Manyika allegedly took the complainant into a nearby bushy area.
He allegedly threatened to kill her with a knife and ordered her to lie on the ground on her back.
She refused.
He tripped her to the ground and inserted a knife into her private parts before raping her without protection.
Manyika appeared before Harare magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa, who remanded him in custody and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court because he is facing a third schedule offence.
He is facing rape and aggravated indecent assault charges.
