RAPPER Hilton ‘Boomthebass’ Chinyamunyamu has engaged the services of DJ Miles in a collaboration which features artists from around Africa in a song, Mommy.
It is dedicated to all the mothers around the world.
Boomthebass said the artists are from South Africa, Botswana and Amsterdam-based Kudakwashe Nemane (BrotherEarth), who was born in Zimbabwe.
Some of the artists include Dackson Namame (Scrappy) and Karabo Tabane (Kayfrika) and the song was produced by internationally-acclaimed DJ Miles.
“DJ Miles is our producer for the latest overseas feature and we have two songs which are special for only three reasons.
“One song is for mommy in which we want to say thank you to all mothers out there, they are suffering silently but this Christmas we are going to celebrate you.
“The other one is for bowlers and hustlers in Zimbabwe and the world who keep working hard and showing that it pays and we did all of them in English, mixed with our mother language.
“These are big hip-hop tunes,” he said.
The singer, who has been sitting on over 1000 songs, feels the collaboration will be a bomb.
“The feature is the group coming from different countries but the main feature is BrotherEarth from Amsterdam coming all the way to combine with me.
“We wanted to do it differently and do it not only in English but also in our mother language. The songs are mine, since I wrote the songs.
“We will be shooting the video next week.”
Boomthebass added:
“They liked the way I did my rap and hip hop. They actually wanted to connect with someone in Zimbabwe and make it in international hip-hop.
“So, in their quest, they wanted a connection with a local and fortunately I fell on their radar.”
The singer has been helping rising artists and young people to fight drugs and substance abuse.
He has several tracks under his belt with singles like ‘What Arouses Your Desires’, ‘My Baby Don’t Cry’, ‘North Star’, ‘Let’s Pray So They Can Pray’, ‘Jailed’ and ‘Isolated.’
