A PREGNANT woman attacked her husband with a knife and splashed boiling water all over him after finding out about his infidelity.
Millicent Saurombo told the Harare Civil Court that she found out that her husband of five years, Tawanda Gonyora, has been cheating on her with multiple women.
Gonyora claimed his life was now in danger.
“My body is covered in scars and l fear that one day she will end up killing me.
“She almost killed me with the knife and I got help from our neighbours. I have been suffering throughout our marriage and I want the court to protect me from her actions,” said Gonyora.
Saurombo claimed she was hurt because of her husband’s infidelity.
“He is hurting me and he is infecting me with STIs. My health is at risk because of his cheating.
“I failed to control myself and I attacked him with a knife.
“I left him and took what was rightfully mine but he had no right to cheat on me and expect me to stay in the marriage,” said Saurombo.
Magistrate Meenal Naratom ordered the two to seek marriage counselling.
“While I understand your pain and anger, violence is never the answer,” said the magistrate.
