RISING female rapper, Shian Makombe, says she is the next big thing in the male-dominated Zim Hip Hop fraternity.
The rapper is rising on a trending verse Fire Emoji The Remix, which she collaborated with Nomonde “Monzon” Mare.
Their song is rocking the airwaves and causing a stir in the hip hop and Afro pop circles in Zimbabwe.
“I am the next big thing in Zimbabwe hip hop acts.
“We are looking forward to doing wonders in the male-dominated industry and we believe we have what it takes to make a break.
“The perception that men dominate is now a thing of the past.
“It’s up to us, as female artists, to rock the world,” she said.
Shian said the new project is going up.
“The Fire emoji verse already has over 21 000 views on social media platforms.
“We have worked on collaborations with T Gonz, Bazooker, Van Choga.
“I also shared the stage with Freeman, Holy Ten, Votlz JT and have also had solo shows.
“I am somebody into arts. I can sing, act, dance, model but right now I am just focusing on rapping.
“I chose rap because I am a good writer and I can spit better,” she added.
The duo are cousins, while Nomonde is a student at Africa University and Shian is a nurse, actress and make-up artist.
She has done solo songs Jealous, Body Controller with Monzon, Torova Ngoma with Monzon and Ti Gonzi.
The duo came together in 2018 and they are currently working on an EP.
The duo is currently working with Zhomba Entertainment, on a short-term basis, as they look to venture into uncharted territories in the Zimbabwean entertainment space.
