SIKANDAR Raza stood out with ball in hand for Trinbago Knight Riders when the Zimbabwean all rounder collected two wickets in one over as his team defeated Barbados Tridents by two wickets at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain on Saturday to record a sixth straight win in the Caribbean Premier League.
Raza, an off spinner only bowled a solitary over in  his third CPL appearance and it was a fruitful one since he dismissed Kyle Mayers as well as Corey Anderson while he conceded 11 runs, the Barbados Tridents posting 148/7 in 20 overs.
Raza, who came in to bat at number eight was then run out for three runs but skipper, man of the match Kieron Pollard led the run chase with a robust 72 off just 28 deliveries to guide Trinbago Knight Riders to victory, achieved with a ball to spare, their sixth in a row which leaves them the only team yet to taste defeat in this year’s competition.
Trinbago Knight Riders, the most successful team since the CPL started in 2013 as they won it three times are now favourites to pick up their fourth title. Next up for the Brendon McCullum coached Trinbago Knight Riders is a clash with Jamaica Tallawahs at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba in Trinidad on Tuesday.
