Dispute between Moana’s parents an eye-opener
The case of the late Mitchelle “Moana” Amuli and the dispute that took place between her parents exposed some facts about modern families.
Some people rushed to attack Moana’s father as a loud-mouth and a bitter man who cannot get over the past.
However, I empathise with him because he raised some valid points.
When he raised his daughter, the mother was in South Africa and so it must have been hard for him to raise her alone.
The father was concerned about his daughter’s outgoing behaviour which he believed was wayward and disrespectful to his religious beliefs.
The mother loved Moana and accepted the choices that she made in her life. I feel for both parents and I think their situation is common given the many separated
parents that we now have in the modern age.
Although we are mere mortals who cannot prevent death when it approaches, we should as parents continue to look out for our children and protect them from what might hurt them.
