Borrowdale Valley Estate has entered into a partnership with property technology platform Okava in a deal that will see more than 1 500 residential stands and 22 house designs, with a projected combined market value of over US$1 billion, placed on the digital platform.
The partnership is aimed at complementing the country’s National Housing Policy, which seeks to provide adequate houses to all citizens by 2030.
It also makes Borrowdale Valley Estate the first property developer in Zimbabwe to be approved and onboarded onto the Okava platform.
The development is expected to provide local and diaspora buyers with access to property listings, pricing information and supporting documentation, while allowing them to reserve properties and book consultations with property specialists online.
Borrowdale Valley Estate chief executive officer, Mr Munyaradzi Majoni, said the partnership will enable the developer to centrally manage its residential stands, house plans, pricing and availability while providing buyers with up-to-date information.
“As Borrowdale Valley Estate continues to grow, it is essential that we have a modern platform capable of managing our property inventory efficiently while providing buyers with accurate, real-time information,” he said.
“Okava gives us a centralised inventory management system where our residential stands, house plans, pricing and availability can all be managed from a single platform.
“This ensures every sales channel is working from the same live inventory, reducing duplication, improving accuracy and creating a better experience for buyers.”
Mr Majoni said the platform will also help the estate reach buyers in Zimbabwe and the diaspora while streamlining the sales process.
Okava head of business development, Mr Nathan Mvere, said the onboarding of Borrowdale Valley Estate was a significant milestone for the company and Zimbabwe’s digital property sector.
“This is a defining moment for Okava and for Zimbabwe’s digital property sector. Launching with a development of this scale demonstrates exactly what the platform was built for,” he said.
Under the partnership, prospective buyers will be able to view available properties, compare prices, access supporting documentation, reserve properties online, book consultations with property specialists and monitor their purchase journey through the platform.
Buyers will also have the option of purchasing serviced residential stands or selecting from 22 approved house designs and complete home packages.
Mr Mvere said the approval followed their property developer verification and onboarding process.
The platform also provides developers with tools to manage property inventory, pricing, availability, documentation, reservations and buyer communications from a centralised dashboard.
He said developers can also access AI-powered marketing, buyer matching and automated enquiry management, as well as finance, legal and other professional services.
The onboarding of Borrowdale Valley Estate is part of Okava’s plans to expand its network of property developers in Zimbabwe before extending its operations to other African markets.
Borrowdale Valley Estate is a master-planned residential development comprising more than 1 500 serviced residential stands and 22 house designs, with the completed development estimated to have a value exceeding US$1 billion.
