development and property valuations will continue to operate under the RM Africa banner, with the property consultants, property sales and rentals divisions now operating under the Rawson Properties Group.
The change in name comes as RM Africa commenced its operation as a franchisee of South African-based property group, The Rawson Property Group.
RM Africa said the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe has since granted them the right to trade and operate under the name Rawson Properties.
The Rawson Property Group has eight divisions — Rawson Properties (sales), Rawson Rentals, Rawson Finance, Rawson Auctions, Rawson Training Academy, Rawson Commercial,
Rawson Developers and Rawson Construction.
RM Africa says it intends to introduce and develop all these brands in Zimbabwe in due course once the sales and rental divisions have adapted to the Rawson systems and moved ahead successfully.
A director with the company said the rebranding exercise is ongoing and will naturally impact every aspect of the affected business.
“The rebranding had to start with the employees so as to ensure that they all speak with one language and improve their overall competence, selling and negotiating skills. To this extent, they have had to undergo intensive training courses both locally and in South Africa,” he said.
The RM Africa director said the partnership was a vote of confidence for the local economy. “The Rawson Property Group has shown great confidence in the Zimbabwean economy and property sector and regards Zimbabwe as the property hub for the Southern Region.” “Following on from this staff training the new franchise is now rebranding its business
processes, advertising and other aspects.
“RM Africa is excited about the potential of the new technology which will introduce new standards of professionalism to our business transactions and customer liaison,” he said.
Added the RM Africa director: “The rebranding of the business systems involves adopting modern real estate technology in the sales, marketing and finance systems such as Realty Tech and Lotus.
“This will improve effectiveness and efficiency within our operations with the ultimate goal of selling or renting properties faster and with a minimum of hassle.”
Franchising in the South African market has resulted in significant growth for Rawson and could be equally successful in Zimbabwe.
The RM Africa director said the partnership was a vote of confidence for the local economy.
“The Rawson Property Group has shown great confidence in the Zimbabwean economy and property sector and regards Zimbabwe as the property hub for the Southern Region.”
Rawson has been a frontrunner in the use of internationally proven information technology systems for the property sector and this technology is expected to be made available to RM Africa.
