What are Western values in the eyes of Zimbabwe?

Why give them a value when they are tearing our lives apart like paper?

Treating us like trash,

Turning our nation upside down.

Western Values are devouring our culture,

Vandalising our hopes for a bright future.

 

They are a cloud of darkness hovering over our culture and beliefs.

A ball of fire rolling down our beautiful Zimbabwe and burning our ancestral legacy,

And bringing a menace to our society.

This is why drugs are destroying the children of our nation.

 

An obstacle stopping us from aiming high and touching the sky,

Impeding the speedy achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,

Aiming to turn the whole of Zimbabwe into a Western backyard.

 

What is the result?

Misfit in Society,

Death,

Crime,

Women walking in the streets naked,

Young Boys and girls doing inappropriate things at their tender age,

Youths behaving like mad people, all because of drugs.

 

Zimbabwe!,

Where is your culture?

Where is your spirit of Ubuntu?

Where are your values?

Where are our traditions?

 

Without Ubuntu, you have no aim,

Without a culture, you are a smartphone with no network coverage,

Without values, we are ships without rudders.

 

Without these, we are nothing.

We don’t have an identity.

And yet we have the blood of warriors.

 

We are the future of Zimbabwe,

The leaders of tomorrow,

Do not let drugs destroy your life,

You are not nothing, you are important.

You are not a zero, but a hero.
