THEY came in their thousands, from all corners of the city, for the BIGGEST outdoor party which Harare has held so far this year.
And, they were all women.
It probably broke the record for attendance at such outdoor events in the capital with over 10 000 women attending.
Alex Sports Club was the host of this mega show, dubbed Doek & Slay, a party reserved only for women and this was Harare at its smiling best.
“The profile of this event has really exploded and those who attended yesterday enjoyed moments they will not forget in a hurry.
Not even the threat of thunderstorms, and the light showers which kept lashing the capital throughout the day, could deny these women their chance to have fun.
Superstar Jah Prayzah and Feli Nandi provided the entertainment.
“This is amazing,” one of the women told H-Metro.
“This is what life is all about and I’m so happy. You have to give credit to the organisers because, for such a huge crowd, the organisation was very smooth.
“It’s a crazy idea when you come to think of it, thousands of women converging in one place just to have fun but I can tell you that we are having real fun.”
Another woman said:
“This is the beautiful side of Zimbabwe you never hear about but it’s real and it’s very nice.
“I came here with my sister from Kwekwe and we have enjoyed everything.
“It’s sad they are not organising another one next weekend, otherwise I would have attended that one too.”
