OVER 175 000 people attended this year’s United Family International Church’s Judgment Night 4 surpassing attendance figures in previous events, the church spokesperson Pastor Prime Kufa said yesterday. Pastor Kufa revealed the attendance figures during Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa’s birthday celebrations in Harare.The celebrations were attended by 432 children from several children homes.
“Had it been any other event, we could have cancelled because congregants were having difficulties in connecting from the Central Business District to the venue and thousands of people failed to come,” he said.
“Judgment Night 4 was a success as Brand Makandiwa has grown and marketed itself as evidenced by the huge turnout.
“This year’s event was much bigger as compared to last year as it surpassed the 160 000 attendance.”
Pastor Kufa said the hand of God at Judgment Night 4 moved like never before as congregants were treated from various ailments without even the Prophet laying his hand.
He said miracles read in the Bible were replicated at Judgment Night 4 as the blind and lame were healed.
“We saw the hand of God moving like never before. Everyone was ready for the miracles as the Prophet did not lay a hand on anyone, but miracles happened through the night and people testified to the glory of God.”
Pastor Kufa also said as UFIC, they were happy that they have made major contributions to the economy through religious tourism.
“We are happy to have contributed in a big way to the economy through religious tourism. We had hotels and lodges that registered a 100 percent occupancy rate due to the more than 40 000 international visitors we had,” he said.
Turning to the birthday celebrations, Pastor Kufa said the event showed Prophetess Makandiwa loved children.
The children were treated to food and drink, with most of them saying it was their first time to be in a hotel and that it was an experience of a life time.
Prophetess Makandiwa then took time to cut the cake and posing for photographs with the children who beamed with enjoyment.
The children were then each handed hampers with goodies worth thousands of dollars.
Prophetess Makandiwa pays school fees to thousands of orphaned and less-privileged children from primary school to university level and also pays rent and other welfare needs for hundreds of widows through her charity arm, Agape Family Care.
The children were drawn from several children’s home including Tanyaradzwa Child Care, Chinyaradzo , Harare, Danai and Chiedza Child Care Centre.
The children were entertained by Pastor Amos Mahendere and other artistes.
