Redcliff woman stabbed to death

A 22-year-old Redcliff woman died after she was stabbed three times in the stomach by an unidentified assailant resulting in her intestines protruding.

The stabbing occurred in Redcliff on New Year’s eve as the woman was engaged in an argument with another.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the death of Yeukai Muzadzi of Rutendo suburb.

“I can confirm that we are investigating a matter of murder which happened on December 31 at Mutegude Shopping Centre in Rutendo suburb in Redcliff.

“Preliminary investigations show that the now deceased Yeukai Muzadzi was at Mutegude Shopping Centre where she was arguing with an unidentified woman,” said Insp Mahoko.

He said as they argued, an unidentified man emerged and stabbed the now deceased three times with a knife in the stomach.
Insp Mahoko said Muzadzi bled profusely from three deep stab wounds.

“Following the fatal stabbing, Muzadzi sustained three deep wounds and her intestines were protruding.

The matter was reported to the police and Muzadzi was rushed to Kwekwe District Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival,” he said.

Insp Mahoko appealed to members of the public who could have identified the woman Muzadzi had an altercation with and or the alleged person who stabbed her to visit the nearest police station.

“We are appealing to members of the public with information that can help identify and locate the lady and the man involved in the murder,” he said.

“Murder is a serious crime and may the public develop key interest in assisting the police in the investigation of serious crimes. Public places should be safe for all.”
