Region 5 Youth Games: Athletics postponed to tomorrow

THE AUSC Region 5 Under-20 Youth Games athletics competition which was scheduled to begin today has been postponed to tomorrow as the lines that have been drawn on the newly laid tartan track have not dried up.

The lines were drawn on Saturday by a surveyor and were expected to be certified by the International Association of Athletics Federation.

Despite the postponement of the athletics competition more than 1000 people have made their way to White City Stadium to watch the teams practicing.

The first event was supposed to be the T11 800 metres women semifinals starting at exactly 9AM. The three semifinals were to be followed by another 800 metres women semifinal at 9.45AM. The morning session was to end with three women and men 100 metres semifinals.
