Regional leaders continue trickling in for SADC Extraordinary Summit

Mozambique’s President Daniel Chapo has arrived in Zimbabwe for the SADC Extraordinary Summit on DRC.

President Chapo was welcomed at Robert Mugabe International Airport by Zimbabwe’s Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Cde Victor Matemadanda.

Botswana’s President Duma Boko has also touched down and was received by Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi.

Tanzania’s President and chairperson of the SADC Organ Troika on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, and Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina arrived earlier today.

The Summit brings together regional leaders to deliberate on pressing security and political matters within the SADC bloc, particularly concerning stability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
