Registered voters reach 6,4 million

Registrar General of Voters, Mr Tobaiwa Mudede told the media that capturing of registrants into the voters’ roll was now complete.

He said 234 354 were transferred to new polling stations while the number of people who inspected the voters’ roll was at 860 389.

Mr Mudede said 492 429 were issued with national identity cards while 143 420 received birth certificates.
He said 16 859  death certificates were issued.

“The figures comprises statistics from all registration centres in the just ended mobile registration exercise,” he said.

The figure is inclusive of the previous voters who were active as reflected in the Zimbabwe Population Registration System.”
