‘Reject foreign cultural practices’

YOUTHS have been challenged to remain focused and never be deceived into accepting alien and foreign cultural practices and identities.

In an interview, Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Dingumuzi Phuti said young people, as the vanguard of the country, must reject any agenda that advances divisions.

He hailed the Government for recognising the National Youth Day on its calendar year.

“Of late it used to be the 21st Movement celebrating the life of the late former President Robert Gabriel Mugabe, but the Second Republic has turned the day to be a National Youth Day to commemorate the involvement of the youth in economic transformation,” he said.

Deputy Minister Phuti said Government is scaling up its support for all Vocational Training Centres so that they are well equipped and capacitated to be drivers of community empowerment, rural industrialisation, and economic development that leaves no one no place behind.

“The Second Republic re-configured the Ministry of Youth to specifically pay attention to youth empowerment, development and vocational training. Youth should develop partnerships and viable business synergies, that generate incomes as well as improve the quality of their lives,” said Deputy Minister Phuti.
