Remarkable Woman seminar comes to Bulawayo

Women in business from Bulawayo and the rest of Zimbabwe will get a life changing opportunity to learn anything business related as a South African established seminar called “Remarkable Woman” will hold this year’s edition in Bulawayo on 28 September at a venue yet to be announced.

Remarkable Woman is an annually held gathering for women in leadership and business. It was founded by Loraine MaKhumalo Sibanda who is a seasoned Publicist and Digital Strategist – also founder of the Michiko Group.

Running under the theme “collaboration for progress,” the event will see various entrepreneurs from Bulawayo, Harare and the rest of Zimbabwe as well as from South Africa, brought together to experience the beauty of the city of Kings.

Amongst guest speakers is former Miss Universe Zimbabwe (1996) Langa Sibanda. She is the founder of Langa Cosmetics. She is a philanthropist who is passionate about the growth and development of the girl child.

Business woman Alice Tagwira is also amongst guest speakers. She is a phenomenal media entrepreneur who has paved the way for herself and is also known to be a big collaborator with other women.

She was named in the Top 100 Influencers in Zimbabwe in 2020 and she is the founder of the Zheera Trust as well as the She Glows Africa magazine which celebrates and brings to the spotlight the amazing works women are doing in the Zimbabwean community.

Other speakers are Luwy Kay Kusemwa as well as Apphia Musavengana.

Loraine Sibanda said, “When the event was launched eight years ago in Johannesburg, the intention was to help women to gather unpacking and encouraging each other in womanhood, business as well as networking. It was created to be a safe space for women of diverse backgrounds.

“Over time, the initiative had to change to meet the needs of women in the network as they started to launch business or climb up the corporate ladder and seek financial and emotional wellness for themselves,” she said.

She said guests can expect insightful conversations, panel discussions, great music performances, opportunities to exhibit and showcase the brand of local businesses will be available.
